Amritsar (PUNJAB) : Regarding the old structure of the building which was unearthed during the construction work of the twin house near Sri Akal Takht Sahib Secretariat at Sri Darbar Sahib, the President of the Shormani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Bibi Jagir Kaur said that if this b structure was related to history and heritage then this Will be protected.
She said that excavations in the past few days have revealed some old looking rooms which are made of small bricks. She said that the opinion of experts on its antiquity and historicity was being sought.
The SGPC has discussed the matter with experts from Guru Nanak Dev University and is seeking the services of other experts and historians.
The Deputy Commissioner Amritsar has also been asked to look into the matter through the Archaeological Department.
The SGPC President said that some people were deliberately making an issue about the structure of the building which came to light during the Kaar seva.
She said that the SGPC was providing services to the devotees arriving at Sri Harmandir Sahib. It is the duty of the Shiromani Committee to work for the convenience of the Sangat as per the requirements of the time.
Under this, the Jora Ghar and Luggage Ghar is also being constructed and if any old building is seen during the Kaar seva it is not intended that it will be demolished.
She appealed to the sangat to beware of misleading propaganda.
