Amritsar: In view of the arrival of Sangat (pilgrims) in large numbers, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today inaugurated newly built counters for offering Karah Parsad Degh (Holy Communion) at Sri Harmandar Sahib, Sri Darbar Sahib. Before the inauguration of the counters, head granthi of Sri Harmandar Sahib, Giani Jagtar Singh recited the Gurbani of Sri Anand Sahib and the ardas (prayer) was offered by Bhai Sukhdev Singh. SGPC President S. Harjinder Singh Dhami and prominent personalities specially attended the inauguration ceremony.

SGPC President S. Harjinder Singh Dhami said lakhs of Sangat arrive every day to pay obeisance at Sri Harmandar Sahib and offer Karah Parsad as per their devotion.

“In view of increase in arrival of Sangat, new counters were developed for offering Karah Parsad and the Sewa (voluntary service) of the same has been done by the disciple of the Guru’s house Bhai Prabhjot Singh and his sons Bhai Surinderpal Singh and Bhai Inderpal Singh. The disciple family has also offered renovation of four rooms for organising Sri Akhand Path Sahib”, said S. Harjinder Singh Dhami. He said the Guru may bless this family and they continue to serve the Guru’s house.

On this occasion, Giani Jagtar Singh and S. Harjinder Singh Dhami honoured the disciple family with the Guru’s blessing Siropao (robe of honour).

Among those present on this occasion included granthi of Sri Harmandar Sahib Giani Gurminder Singh, SGPC executive committee member S. Amarjit Singh Bandala, SGPC member S. Mangwinder Singh Khaperkheri, OSD to SGPC President S. Satbir Singh Dhami, assistant secretary S. Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, manager of Sri Darbar Sahib S. Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, in-charge S. Shahbaz Singh and more.
