Chandigarh : The Shiromani Akali Dal today “whole heartedly appreciate the categorical statements of the Samyukat Kisan Morcha leaders against attempts by disruptive elements to sabotage peaceful democratic activity of  the farmer friendly political parties and weaken the cause of the farmers.

“The statements from the farm Unions have totally exposed the mischievous elements disguised as farmers but sponsored by agencies of the Central government and backed and supported by Captain Amarinder Singh. The Punjab Police is just facilitating these disruptive elements. “

The SAD Core Committee which met here this afternoon also said that these “mischievous elements are working to bring President’s rule in Punjab and inflict an unrepresentative, anti Punjab and anti farmer establishment on the people. The dangerous and devious game plan of these elements stands exposed by the statements from the farmers’  leaders . They are bent upon ruining the gains of sacrifices made for preserving the atmosphere of peace and communal harmony in the sensitive border state.”

The Core Committee further said that  the mischievous elements , disguised as farmers, were working  at the behest of some agencies and anti farmer forces to disrupt our peaceful, pro-Punjab and pro- farmer political activity. They are conspiring to fracture the social fabric of Punjab in order to disturb peace and to blame it on the farmers so as eventually to weaken their movement, ”

The Core Committee appreciated the SKM leaders for their categorical statements that nothing should be done to disrupt those who have stood by the farmers and opposed the BJP. “The SAD had not only voted against the three anti farmer Black Laws but also quit the Union Cabinet as well as broken the long standing SAD BJP Alliance in protest against these Black laws,  said the core committee.

Giving details of the decisions taken by the Core Committee, Mr. Harcharan Bains, Principal Advisor to the SAD President S Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the party thanked the people of Punjab for the overwhelming response to the 100 Day 100 constituencies mass contact programme of the SAD president and said that these programmes will continue as scheduled.  “The KU statements assume significance as the SAD is the only party engaged in mass contact programme in the state through the “100-Day 100-Onstituencies” drive led by   S Sukhbir Singh Badal”.

The party also emphatically stated that it would continue to stand solidly by any program announced by the farmer’s organizations to get the three anti farmers Black Law revoked.  “We fully support the demand for the complete revocation of these Black Laws and will continue to lend our total support to the movement against these.”

In another resolution, the Core Committee “congratulated the Khalsa Panth, the Delhi Sikh Sangat and the rank and file of the SAD for the “resounding victory of the party in the DSGMC elections. The party especially thanked and congratulated the party president and the DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa for their commitment to the ideals of the  Khalsa and their tireless work for those especially during the Covid and the Afghan crisis.

The core committee said “SAD has been unswerving and categorical from the very start in its support to the movement against the Black Laws enacted by the present Government at the center. We are the only party in the country which voted against these Bills in the parliament and did not choose the soft option of gimmicks like walking out when it was time to stand up and be counted against the Bills.” The Resolution further said that the party’s representative in the Union cabinet Harsimrat Kaur Badal,  resigned in protest against the center’s refusal to heed the farmers on the issue. “Similarly the SAD chose to break its alliance with the NDA on the same issue”.

Mr Badal was accompanied by members of the core committee including Balwinder Singh Bhundar,  SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur, Jathedar Tota Singh,  Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Maheshinder Grewal, Dr Daljit Singh Cheema, Bikram Singh Majithia, Gulzar Singh Ranike, Jagmeet Singh Brar, Dr Upinderjit Kaur,  Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Surjit Singh Rakhra , Avtar Singh Hit , Manjinder Singh Sirsa & Harmeet Singh Kalka
