Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Bibi Jagir Kaur has strongly condemned the Congress leader Harish Rawat for his statement of comparing Punjab Congress president and acting presidents with Panj Piaras (the five beloved ones).
SGPC President said that the sentiments of the Sikhs were being deliberately hurt by the Congress leaders.
“Harish Rawat did no good by degrading Sikh traditions and principles by calling his party leaders Panj Piaras”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
“Panj Piaras are the blessings of the tenth Guru, who cannot be compared to anyone. Although Harish Rawat has apologized publicly, it did not mean that anyone first hurts the Sikh traditions and principles and then apologizes. The political leaders should stay within their limits and respect the religious sentiments of the Sangat (community)”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
