Bagalkot- Condemning the elimination of Shivaji statue by the district administration, the BJP and Hindu organisations are observing bandh on Saturday in Bagalkot metropolis of Karnataka.

The statue was eliminated on the evening of August 16 and the administration maintained that the set up of the statue was unlawful, after which the scenario turned risky.

The BJP and Hindu organisations gathered at Sonar Layout from the place the statue was eliminated and staged a protest.

The curfew orders are clamped within the metropolis since Friday midnight.

The BJP and Hindu organisations have dubbed it as an motion taken as a part of appeasement politics by the Congress authorities.

The BJP and Hindu organisations have declared that till the Shivaji statue is re-installed, the agitation will proceed.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Govind Karajol had held a gathering on Friday on this regard. In the assembly, it was determined to stage a peaceable protest by closing down all of the retailers and markets. The memorandums can be submitted on this regard to authorities.
