AMRITSAR: Bibi Jagir Kaur, president of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), demanded strict action against the woman who set fire to Gurdwara Sahib at village Jollian in Sangrur yesterday and said that SGPC would fight the case so that the culprits could be punished.

Bibi Jagir Kaur in a statement here on Monday, said that although the accused woman has been arrested, the people behind the incident must be exposed.

A delegation of the S SGPC would submit a memorandum to the Sangrur SSP tomorrow (June 29) seeking appropriate action in this regard.

The delegation included Baba Buta Singh, Junior Vice President of the Shiromani Akali Dal, Satwinder Singh Tohra, Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan, SGPC members including Baldev Singh Chunghan and Bibi Malkit Kaur and local sangats will also be present.

The SGPC President said that repeated incidents of indecency were taking place and appropriate action was not being taken even after the culprits were caught on the spot.
