Chandigarh- Haryana Cabinet which met below the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal right here in the present day accorded approval to amend The Chowkidara (Watchman) Rules, 2013 to offer one time monetary help of Rs. 2 lakh to a Gramin Chowkidar (Watchman) after retirement. The choice will profit all Gramin Chowkidars and the State Government will bear the whole monetary burden. 

These guidelines will likely be known as the Haryana Chowkidara (Watchman) Amendment Rules, 2024. As per the modification, within the Haryana Chowkidara (Watchman) Rules, 2013, in rule 12, after sub-rule (2), The Village Watchman sub rule (2A) has been inserted in order to offer one-time monetary help of Rs. 2 lakh after retirement.

The State Government has subsequently determined to extend month-to-month honorarium from Rs. 7, 000 to Rs. 11, 000 per thirty days, uniform allowance from Rs. 2500 per yr to Rs. 4, 000 per yr and Cycle allowance of Rs. 3500 each 5 yr. All these monetary advantages will entail an expenditure of approx. Rs. 30 crore yearly.
