New Delhi-The Congress on Friday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that the Rs 2, 000 banknotes launched with such fanfare after that “singularly disastrous” demonetisation choice of November 8, 2016, at the moment are being withdrawn.

His remarks got here after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday introduced to withdraw the two, 000 financial institution notes from circulation however mentioned that it’ll proceed as authorized tender until September 30.

The RBI in an official communique mentioned, “In pursuance of the ‘Clean Note Policy’ of the RBI, it has been decided to withdraw the 2000 denomination banknotes from circulation”.

“The banknotes in 2000 denomination will continue to be legal tender.” It additionally mentioned that each one banks shall present deposit and/or trade facility for 2000 banknotes till September 30.
