Ahead of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s questioning in reference to the alleged excise coverage rip-off case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday carried out searches at greater than 12 areas within the nationwide capital, together with the premises of Minister and AAP chief Raaj Kumar Anand.

The raids had been carried out in reference to false declaration of imports for customs evasion of greater than Rs 7 crore and worldwide hawala transactions.

An ED supply informed IANS, “Raaj Kumar Anand, Cabinet Minister is being searched by ED today in connection with money laundering Investigations initiated under PMLA.”

The supply mentioned: “The investigations were initiated based on the Prosecution Complaint filed by DRI alleging false declarations in imports for customs evasion of more than Rs 7 crore and international hawala transactions.”

The courtroom has taken cognisance of the criticism, the supply mentioned.

“Around 12 premises are being searched at different locations including Delhi, ” the supply added.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal is scheduled to seem earlier than the ED through the day for questioning within the case, during which AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh have already been arrested.

This is the primary time that the Chief Minister has been summoned by the ED in relation to the alleged rip-off.

He was earlier questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) within the case in April this 12 months.
