AMRITSAR: Giani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, has assured that Giani Ditt Singh will soon be conferred the title of Panth Ratan by the Sikh Panth. This view was expressed by Bhai Kewal Singh, Chief Sewadar of Shri Guru Ravidas Historical Shrine Shri Khuralgarh Sahib while interacting with media after meeting Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh today.
He had specially arrived to discuss the demands of the Dalit community with the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and to submit a memorandum.
Bhai Kewal Singh said that he has requested Giani Harpreet Singh that keeping in view the contribution of Giani Ditt Singh ji, the great scholar of the nation, his due respect has not been accorded by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, his place in the Panth and Respect should be established.
He raised the issue that the life and martyrdom of Baba Sangat Singh Ji, the great martyr of the Sikh community, was being misrepresented in Punjab. The Sikh community is being deeply hurt by the false propaganda being spread about Kalgi Tode and Life history which is causing a lot of resentment in the Dalit community. Strict action should be taken against those who tamper with the history of Baba Sangat Singh by issuing Hukamnama in this regard. Giani Harpreet Singh assured that the Sangat would be made aware of this.
He further reminded Giani Harpreet Singh that he had been given a letter of demand by the above managing committee last year in which he should address Guru Ravidas Maharajas Guru in the presence of Shri Guru Granth Sahib. About which no action has been taken yet. On this occasion Giani Raghveer Singh Jathedar Shri Kesgarh Sahib, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Bibi Jagir Kaur, Chief Secretary Giani Gurmeet Singh, Secretary Baba Naresh Singh, Cashier Harbhajan Singh, Vice President Binder Singh, Jagdev Singh Garhi Manswal Member, Giani Jasveer Singh Member Lakhveer Singh Khalsa National President Ramdas Welfare Council, Jaswinder Singh Gatka Coach, Bhai Gurdev Singh Hazuri Ragi, Jeet Singh Khalsa and others were present.
