The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur held a special meeting with the managers of various Gurdwaras under the management of SGPC at Bhai Gurdas Hall at Sri Amritsar on Tuesday and directed them to perform their duties diligently for the management of Gurdwaras.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the sentiments of the Sangat (devotees) are connected with the Gurdwaras and the Sangat comes to visit Gurdwaras from all over the world.

SGPC president said that the Sangat should be well influenced by the arrangements of the SGPC, so the managers and other responsible officers should fulfill their responsibility diligently regarding the arrangements.

While addressing the managers of Gurdwaras, Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “There are great expectations of the Sangat from the managers, so it is the responsibility of all of us to make arrangements with caution. Negligence in arrangements will not be tolerated in any way.”

SGPC president directed all the managers to make the employees of Gurdwaras accountable for their duties.

In a strict warning, SGPC president said, “If any employee is found guilty of any immoral act or drug addiction, the manager of the concerned Gurdwara would be held accountable along with strict action against him.”

Meanwhile, SGPC chief secretary Harjinder Singh Dhami while sharing his views with the managers said that everyone needs to be committed for the betterment of the organization. “The manager of Gurdwara Sahib is a responsible officer who has a duty to pay special attention to the cleanliness of Gurdwaras along with etiquette and communication of the employees with the Sangat”, said Harjinder Singh Dhami.

In the meeting, SGPC junior vice-president Baba Buta Singh, SGPC general secretary Bhagwant Singh Sialka, SGPC additional secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna, Partap Singh, assistant secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, manager Sri Darbar Sahib Gurinder Singh Mathrewal and other officials including managers of Gurdwaras were present.
