Amritsar:
Strongly reacting to giving Siropao (robe of honour) to Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu by Patit (apostate) persons inside Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur said that it is a violation of Sikh Maryada (conduct) and Navjot Sidhu should take care of Maryada of Gurdwara Sahib while going to pay obeisance.
She said in the recent past Navjot Singh Sidhu visited Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, the holy shrine of the tenth Guru’s younger Sahibzadas, where his party’s Patit persons violated the code of conduct by giving him Siropao at Gurdwara Sahib.
She added that along with the violation of Maryada, the police administration also harassed the Sangat (devotees) by stopping them during the visit of Navjot Sidhu, due to which, the Sangat is deeply hurt.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that Navjot Singh Sidhu is repeatedly violating the Maryada and honour of Gurdwaras.
“Before Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Navjot Singh Sidhu did a show of strength while paying obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, Sri Amritsar. Gurdwara Sahib has a Maryada and everyone should take care of the same while paying obeisance there. Navjot Sidhu should arrive at Gurdwara Sahib as a devotee rather than as a president and forbid his party workers from doing acts that are against Gurmat (teachings of Sikh Gurus). Sidhu should refrain from violating the Maryada of shrines in the vanity of the presidency”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
SGPC president takes stern notice of insult of Kakaars by RSS people in Kurukshetra
SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur has taken stern notice of the insult of Sikh Kakaars (Kirpan) by some affiliates of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS).
Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “RSS has no right to insult the holy Kakaars of Sikhs and commit such acts to provoke the sentiments of Sikhs. Those people in Kurukshetra, who had their hair cut tried to provoke the Sikhs by putting Gatras (belt used to carry Kirpan) and Kirpans on their bodies. Such people create an atmosphere of conflict, while governments are silent. Such arbitrary acts can never be tolerated. Haryana government should take stern action against these people for hurting Sikh sentiments so that no one would dare to do so again.”
