Setting the tone for the two-day I.N.D.I.A. Conclave beginning right here on Thursday, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar mentioned on Wednesday that “the people of the country want a change”, for which the Opposition leaders are gathering right here.

Speaking at a joint media briefing, Pawar hinted at the potential of discussing the prickly concern of seat-sharing for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by the nationwide Opposition events.

The NCP chief mentioned that the primary two I.N.D.I.A. alliance conferences had been very important and now the joint technique of the Opposition bloc to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party is more likely to be mentioned over the following two days.

He mentioned a panel comprising some senior leaders could also be fashioned and given the duty of discussing the seat-sharing method for the Lok Sabha polls on the state and native ranges.

To a query on the allegations lately hurled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at varied nationwide Opposition leaders, Pawar dared the Centre that “if they have the courage, they should investigate the cases and bring out the facts” as an alternative of simply making such accusations.

On the possible stance of BSP supremo Mayawati, who’s reportedly toying with the thought of becoming a member of I.N.D.I.A., Pawar mentioned it stays to be seen, as “she is also having discussions with the BJP”.

The 83-year-old chief was addressing a packed media convention on the eve of the two-day I.N.D.I.A. Conclave scheduled on Thursday-Friday to chart out the nationwide Opposition events’ gameplan to dislodge the BJP from energy.

So far, 28 Opposition events have confirmed participation within the assembly from throughout India. This is the primary INDIA Conclave to be held in a state not dominated by any of the bloc’s constituents, not like the earlier two conferences held in Bihar and Karnataka.
