A day after farmers launched protests at many locations in Punjab in the course of roads by pitching tents over their demand to extend procurement worth for sugarcane crop to Rs 450 per quintal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday requested their leaders to cease the undue harassment of the frequent man.
In an announcement right here, the Chief Minister stated the farm unions should desist from creating inconvenience to the frequent man, else the folks will flip in opposition to them.
Mann stated only for the sake of their vested pursuits the unions are harassing the folks by blocking the roads, thereby jeopardising their routine lives, which is very unlucky.
He stated the doorways of his workplace and residence together with Punjab Bhawan, Punjab Civil Secretariat and workplace of the Agriculture Minister are at all times open for dialogue.
However, the Chief Minister stated this “irresponsible attitude” of the farm unions to dam the roads and harass the frequent man is totally unwarranted and undesirable.
He cautioned the farmer unions that if the unions don’t mend their methods and shun these practices, then they will not discover folks to face by their facet.
Mann stated the unions should realise the emotions of the folks and cease harassing them by such techniques.
The Chief Minister stated this callous and irresponsible angle of the farmers in the direction of society is unwarranted and undesirable.
