In a stern warning, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday warned the employees working within the workplaces of the deputy commissioners and patwaris to not take part in any protest or they’d face penalties of even shedding their jobs.
Mann stated the staff, who had threatened to take a seat on a pen-down strike within the coming days, may lose their jobs as there “are many unemployed people in the state whose services could be hired in place of them”.
Official sources stated the stringent warning by the Chief Minister comes within the wake of income employees presently busy in amassing subject reviews of injury to crop, livestock and homes in flood-hit areas and their proposed strike would hit the functioning.
It is learnt the strike name was given by the income staff in protest towards the arrest of a patwari in a bribery case.
