Chandigarh – The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in the present day demanded an instantaneous roll again of the brand new coverage of the union territory administration of Chandigarh to cap the deputation of workers from Punjab and Haryana to the UT at seven years solely.
Condemning the choice, SAD senior chief Dr Daljit Singh Cheema mentioned the brand new coverage was towards the advert hoc association agreed to by the UT administration on the time of division of state into Punjab and Haryana. He mentioned it was then agreed that employees for the UT can be taken from Punjab and Haryana on 60:40 ratio respectively.
Asserting that the deputation of Punjab and Haryana authorities workers couldn’t be equated with different such deputations within the nation, Dr Daljit Cheema mentioned “in the case of Punjab and Haryana employees, they are posted as a right by the two governments”. He mentioned the staff so posted didn’t draw any deputation allowance like different deputations. “It is clear that the new policy is aimed at discouraging posting of employees from Punjab and Haryana in the UT. With such uncertain conditions they would not like to shift to Chandigarh permanently”.
Dr Cheema mentioned the UT administration ought to remember that the entity was a short lived association pending switch to Punjab. “In such a case the UT administration does not have any right to frame such policies”.
