For the second consecutive day, the police together with paramilitary forces continued to accentuate its safety measures on Delhi borders, together with Tikri, Singhu and Ghazipur with cement blocks and pickets with nails put in, a day forward of ‘Delhi Chalo March’ name given by farmers for Tuesday.

The two districts of Delhi Police, Shahdara and Northeast, have additionally imposed part 144 (prohibitory orders) CrPC forward of the protest.

“Whereas, information has been received that some farmer organisations have given a call to their supporters to gather/march to Delhi on 13.02.2024 in c/w their demands of law on MSP etc. They are likely to sit at the border of Delhi till their demands are met, ” learn the orders.

“Keeping in view, the sort of behaviour and adamant method farmers confirmed up to now, there’s a risk of mobilization/actions of farmers/supporters from their respective districts to Delhi alongwith Tractor/Trolleys/Arms and so on. Farmers may even come from Haryana, Punjab, UP, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, MP and so on.

“And Whereas, as a way to keep away from any untoward incident and to keep up Law & Order, a precautionary Order of Section 144 Criminal Procedure Code, 1973, is required to be issued to avoid wasting the life and property within the space, ” the order added.

Meanwhile, giant containers to dam the street if wanted have been saved on borders beside a number of safety barricades, which have already been put in there to cease the farmers from coming into town.

As per officers, over 5, 000 cops, together with paramilitary forces, had been on their toes to keep up regulation and order state of affairs on the Delhi borders.

“We have started checking vehicles on the border areas and we are also keeping eye on the other mode of transport which protesters can take, ” stated a senior police official.
