Amritsar-The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly condemned the act of disqualifying a Sikh participant for not sporting a helmet in skating competitors held at a Government Senior Secondary School in Patran space of Patiala district. 

Harjinder Singh Dhami mentioned that such an act, which hurts spiritual sentiments of Sikhs in a Sikh-majority state of Punjab, is a direct problem to the Sikh id. He mentioned sporting a helmet has no place in Sikh Maryada (conduct) and if a Sikh participant needs to take part in a sports activities competitors and not using a helmet, then there needs to be no such restriction. 

The SGPC President sought instant apology from Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer and motion towards involved officers of the Sports Department and administration of skating competitors, as such an act has been dedicated towards a Sikh participant in a Sikh-majority state.

He mentioned the Punjab authorities ought to guarantee inclusion of the involved Sikh participant disqualified from this skating competitors and organise the video games once more, in order that justice is finished with him.
