The Tipra Motha Party (TMP), which is now Tripura’s essential opposition celebration and governing the politically necessary Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), for the primary time on Friday threatened to launch agitation if the BJP authorities didn’t launch due funds and don’t maintain elections in Village Councils.

The TMP, in a memorandum to Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya, stated that the TTAADC has been going through “unceasing step motherly treatment” by the state authorities.

The memorandum stated that out of the full of Rs 619.25 crore fund allotted to the TTAADC by the state authorities for the final monetary 12 months (2022-23), Rs 126.59 crore is but to be launched inflicting delay in disbursement of employees salaries and hindering different growth actions.

For the present fiscal (2023-24), thus far solely about Rs 4.24 crore has been allotted for the developmental work, it stated.

The TMP stated that the elections to the village councils (equal to gram panchayat), initially scheduled to happen in March 2021, was additionally being delayed even after the clear instructions by the Tripura High Court.

Non-holding of the Village Council election has severely affected the developmental and welfare works in TTAADC areas, it stated.

When a delegation led by TMP supremo Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barman went to fulfill the Governor handy over the memorandum, they weren’t allowed to enter into the Raj Bhavan and in protest, they organised a sit-in-demonstration for some time.
