Chandigarh -The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), throughout its marketing campaign in opposition to corruption within the state, on Friday arrested Ashok Kumar, an affiliate of income Patwari Chamkour Singh, posted at Giaspura, District Ludhiana for accepting a bribe of Rs. 6, 000. In this regard a bribery case has additionally been registered in opposition to the Patwari who escaped from the spot.
Disclosing this right here immediately, an official spokesperson of the VB stated the above accused has been arrested on the idea of a grievance filed by Rakesh Kumar, a resident of village Kohara, district Ludhiana.
He knowledgeable that the complainant has approached the VB and alleged that to get mutation of his newly bought plot and to take copies of Fards for getting mortgage the above stated Patwari and his confederate have demanded a bribe of Rs 6, 000 from him.
The spokesman added that after a preliminary investigation of this grievance, the VB Unit Ludhiana laid a lure and nabbed above stated Ashok Kumar, affiliate of Patwari Chamkour Singh red-handed within the presence of two official witnesses whereas taking a bribe of Rs 6, 000 from the complainant. Efforts are being made to arrest the co-accused Patwari who has escaped from his workplace. In this regard a case beneath the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered in opposition to the each the accused at Vigilance Bureau, police station, Ludhiana Range and additional investigation was beneath progress.
